Kathy Lien is launching her 3rd book this week entitled “Millionaire Traders” with her business partner, Boris Schlossberg. I had a chance to preview this book almost 2 months before the launch, mostly because I’m Kathy’s boyfriend. It is an interesting thing, our relationship, in that I work in the art industry and Kathy works on Wall Street analyzing currency. So as an artist you might wonder what interest I would have in the book other than feeling obligated to reading it. Lets put it this way. I read Kathy’s first book as well “Day Trading the Currency Markets”, all be it interesting it didn’t have the wider appeal of this newer book.As an artist I feel that money is something that you may not see much of in your life. Sure you can work for a major animation studio and make about $60K starting. But what does it take to make more money? Usually you have to move up the ranks, which only a few people do. Trading and making you money work for you are ways where you can not only continue in your current profession but possibly earn as much as 20% on your investments. In their book Kathy and Boris interview 12 traders with very different trading strategies. They trade in all things from futures to options. This may not make sense to some, but as you read the book you get a very good understanding of these trading styles as well as the plethora of things there are out there to trade. The Millionaire Traders site is up as well.Personally I have been “Paper Trading” options for the last month on a platform call Think or Swim. Its interesting, and the nice thing about Paper Trading is that you are trading with fake money. I should be opening my account there in the next month or so.
